Starlite Vaulters meet twice a week at 5220 Greenwood Ave., Clovis where they vault on their team horses. We are always looking for new members or places to perform.

Vaulting is the sport of gymnastics on a moving horse. Dating back to the Roman Era, vaulting was used to train mounted soldiers. Eventually the exercises became more stylized as the combatants entered the gymnasium. Vaulting was an Olympic sport for the Calvary team during the 1920’s. Exhibitions in vaulting are still being performed at the Olympics today.
Vaulting has grown to become a leading youth sport in Europe and is spreading through Canada, the United States, and South America Vaulting numbers among the very few equestrian disciplines recognized by the International Equestrian Federation.
In vaulting there are six basic compulsory exercises; Riding seat, flag, mill, scissor, stand, and full flank. As vaulters become more experienced, they create their own freestyle routine to one minute music of the vaulter’s choice. It’s in the freestyle that the vaulters can let their imaginations run wild and show off their talents.
Individual achievements can be rewarded very early in a vaulter’s training. As the American Vaulting Association/ Equestrian Vaulting World awards medals to individual vaulters at eight levels of athletic skill ranging from novice walk up to gold level canter vaulters.
Starlite Vaulters is a family team made up of able and not-so-able-bodied vaulters ages ranging from 3 to 60 years of age.
